On February 1, 2023, in the city of Meleuz, Republic of Bashkortostan, a search was conducted at the home of a local 57-year-old resident, Ramil Aznaev. After the search, he was taken to the FSB office in Ufa for interrogation and released on his own recognizance. A criminal case was opened against Aznaev for public calls for terrorism. On May 17, 2024, the Central Military District Court found Ramil Aznaev guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison. On August 26, 2024, the Appellate Military Court upheld the verdict. Earlier, on August 12, 2022, the Meleuzovsky District Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan brought Aznaev to justice in a case of an administrative offense under the article on "discrediting" the Russian army due to a picture "against the war and the conduct of a special military operation" in the group "Ak Bure" in "Odnoklassniki.
