Case Description
In St. Petersburg on December 1, 2024, local resident Petr Pustovoy, 62, was detained. He was accused of committing a terrorist act. According to the investigation, no later than November 29, 2024, around 10 PM, Pustovoy committed arson of the sectioning post of the Rybatskoye railway station, located at the 4th picket, 16 km of the Rybatskoye railway station in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg, along the railway track opposite d. 57 on the street Karavaevskaya. During the interrogation, the man said that he had received an order to set fire to the station from unknown persons over the phone, allegedly there were "bugs" there that needed to be burned. The Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg placed the man in custody. On October 22, 2025, the 1st Western Military District Court found Pyotr Pustovoy guilty and sentenced him to 11 years in prison, with the first 3 years to be served in prison, and the remaining 8 years in a strict regime correctional colony."
