Case Description
In April 2022, a criminal case was opened against Pyotr Mylnikov, a resident of the village of Olovyanaya in the Zabaykalsky Krai, for the dissemination of knowingly false information about the activities of the Russian armed forces on the territory of Ukraine. According to the investigation, on March 5 and 21, 2022, as an administrator of a chat in a messenger, Mylnikov published false information about the actions of the Russian army there." The exact date of detention and the measure of restraint are unknown. 30 May 2022, the Olovyanninsky District Court of the Zabaykalsky Krai found Pyotr Mylnikov guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 1 million rubles. On July 27, 2022, the Zabaikalsky Regional Court left the verdict in force. On March 16, 2024, Andrei Bobkov, a 28-year-old local resident, was detained in Chita. His involvement in Vyacheslav Maltsev's Artpodgotovka movement, recognized as terrorist in Russia, was alleged against him. Eight months later, on November 8, 2024, the second defendant in the case was detained - 46-year-old Pyotr Mylnikov. He was also accused of participating in the activities of the terrorist organization Artpodgotovka, as well as calling for terrorism and extremism and participating in the activities of an extremist organization. The court sent both defendants in the case to a pre-trial detention center. On July 28, 2025, the 2nd Eastern District Military Court found Andrei Bobkov guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in a strict regime colony, with the first 4 years to be served in prison. December 24, 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Pyotr Mylnikov guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison, with the first 3 years to be served in prison, and the remaining part of the sentence in a strict regime penal colony, with deprivation of the right to administer websites and channels on the "Internet" for 4 years, with restriction of freedom for 1 year and a fine of 100 thousand. rub.
