Case Description
On March 4, 2025, in Moscow, at a rented apartment on Shokalovsky Lane, security forces detained 21-year-old first-year student of the State University of Education, Polina Kostikova. She was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization. According to the investigation, in 2022, while in Turkey, the girl joined the ranks of the Azov battalion, which is prohibited in the Russian Federation, where she received the call sign Eva. Then she allegedly contacted the coordinators of the banned 'RDK' and offered them assistance in collecting donations and recruiting new members. For this purpose, in August 2023, Polina moved from Turkey to Georgia, where she settled in a hostel with others wishing to join the "RDK. In June 2024, the student returned to Russia, where, according to the investigation, she continued to recruit for the "RDK" online. March 6, 2025, the Ostankino District Court of Moscow chose house arrest as a preventive measure for a student. On 15 May 2025, Kostikova left the apartment where she was under house arrest. She was detained in a taxi on Yaroslavskoye Highway. The investigation believes that the girl tried to hide in Georgia. The next day, on May 16, the court sent Kostikov to the pre-trial detention center.
