Case Description
On September 11, 2023, an investigator from the department for investigating especially important cases of the North-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow opened a criminal case for 'fakes' about the Russian army against Polat Dzhamalov, the head of the Kazakh community in Moscow. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a post on Jamalov's Facebook page with a photo of a document that Deputy Finance Minister Irina Okladnikova allegedly sent to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko. It states that by mid-August 2022, 48,759 Russian servicemen had died in the war in Ukraine. In the post, the man also wrote: '8132 is the average number of deaths per month since the start of the SVO... money loves counting.'", On August 9, 2024, the Ostankino District Court of Moscow denied the investigator's motion to detain Dzhamalov and appointed him a measure of restraint in the form of a prohibition of certain actions.
