Case Description
In July 2023, 24-year-old Pavel Svezhentsev was detained in Yekaterinburg. He was accused of justifying terrorism. According to one version, Svezhentsev is charged with publications in a pacifist Telegram channel that he administered. According to another version, the young man left a comment justifying terrorism on VKontakte. On July 4, 2023, the Ordzhonikidze District Court of Yekaterinburg placed him in custody, but on October 4, 2023, the measure of restraint was changed to house arrest. On March 5, 2024, the Ordzhonikidze District Court of Yekaterinburg denied the investigation's request to extend house arrest. It is unknown what measure of restraint was chosen for the young man.
