The local election commission explained this by the fact that Pishchulin was collecting signatures not in his district. In his biography, he wrote that he is a homemaker, and also worked part-time at a car wash. Is the head of the left-patriotic organization "All-Russian Social Unity" (VSE). The "Basic Goals of the VSE Program" contain calls to rename the Russian Federation to the "Republic of Russia", establish "people's control" over the executive branch, and ensure transparency of officials' activities. Earlier, Pishchulin had been convicted twice. In January 2020, the Penza District Court found him guilty of public calls for extremist activities on the Internet (ch. 2 years Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to two years probation. Case Description
In Moscow, on October 17, 2022, Pavel Pishchulin, a 39-year-old resident of the Penza region, was detained. He was accused of confidential cooperation with a foreign state. This is the first publicly known case of a case being initiated under the relevant Article 275.1, which was added to the Criminal Code in the summer of that year. According to the investigation, in 2022, Pishchulin, during correspondence in messengers with representatives of Ukrainian security services, 'expressed a desire to assist them in activities against the Russian Federation.'", On October 18, 2023, the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow sent Pishchulin to a remand prison." 3.
