Case Description
March 6, 2023. around four in the morning an unknown person broke a window in the building of the resource center of the municipal institution "Active City" and threw a burning rag inside. She fell on the concrete floor. After the alarm went off, security guards arrived at the scene and extinguished the smoldering rag. Within a few days, Pavel Oleinikov was detained, and 7 cans of lighter fluid were found in the apartment he was renting, according to police data. According to the court's findings, Oleynikov decided to set fire to the building of the municipal resource center 'Active City,' which housed a humanitarian aid collection point, because of money. A young man was looking for work, but did not find any legal vacancies. At that moment, an unknown person wrote to him in the messenger, offering the Krasnoyarsk resident a quick but illegal way to earn money. The court sentenced Pavel Oleinikov to 2 years and 3 months of compulsory labor with 10% of his earnings withheld for the state, and released him from custody in the courtroom. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
