Magalyas Pavel Aleksandrovich

In the city of Kamyshin, Volgograd region, on the night of September 22-23, 2022, an unknown man threw two Molotov cocktails through the window of the local administration building. On the day of the arson, it was reported that the building suffered "minor damage. On the same day, a 37-year-old local resident, a native of Ukraine, Pavel Magalys, was detained on charges of arson. Criminal charges were brought against him for hooliganism and attempted destruction of another's property. During the interrogation, Pavel stated that his actions were 'a response to the senseless and bloody violence in Ukraine, which could no longer be tolerated.'. For the duration of the investigation, Magalyasa was sent to a pre-trial detention center. On June 26, 2023, the Kamyshin City Court of the Volgograd Region found Pavel Magalasa guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. On August 16, 2024, the Volzhsky City Court of the Volgograd Region granted the defense's petition for Magalyas' early conditional release from imprisonment. In September 2024, Pavel was released.
