Case Description
In Belgorod in June 2023, 38-year-old local resident Pavel Yevtushenko was detained. According to Pavel himself, FSB officers corresponded with him 'as if on behalf of a citizen from a neighboring state in need of his help.'", When Yevtushenko arrived at the specified location, he was detained, brutally beaten, forced to take a grenade with a plastic explosive in his hand and give incriminating testimony. A Belgorod resident was accused of illegal possession of explosives. According to law enforcement, no later than June 6, 2023, Yevtyushenko agreed via Telegram and WhatsApp with an unidentified person with the nickname "Stanislav" that he would pick up explosives and explosive devices from a designated location, after which he would move them and secretly place them in a new hideout he had made himself. For the duration of the investigation, the Belgorod resident was sent to a pre-trial detention center. On July 5, 2024, the Belgorod District Court of the Belgorod Region found Pavel Yevtushenko guilty and sentenced him to 7 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 600 thousand. rubles. Belgorod Regional Court upheld the sentence on August 28, 2024.
