Case Description
In Odintsovo, Moscow Region, in September 2022, a criminal case was opened against local activist Olga Trifonova for "fakes" about the Russian army on the grounds of political hatred. The reason for the criminal prosecution was an article titled "A Clear Response to Russian Citizens Regarding War Crimes in the Ukrainian City of Bucha, published on May 3, 2022, on the website "Odintsovo-INFO." Trifonova was placed under house arrest for the duration of the investigation. April 20, 2023, Judge Svetlana Moryakova of the Odintsovo City Court of the Moscow Region issued a ruling on the application of compulsory medical measures against Trifonova. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
