Case Description
In Chita, a criminal case was opened for public calls to carry out terrorist activities against local resident Olga Ogarkova. The date of the initiation of the case is unknown. Olga Ogarkova was prosecuted for several anti-war and opposition comments she left in the chat of a news Telegram channel. According to the investigation, Ogarkova, out of hatred for the president and state authorities, systematically published comments in an open internet community justifying terrorism against Vladimir Putin and the Crimean Bridge. One of the comments allegedly contained a call to attack the president's life. The aggravating circumstance was considered by the investigation to be the denial of a pension, which Ogarkova received in 2024. At the same time, Olga had been writing comments since December 2022, but she only received a refusal of her pension in the summer of 2024. During the investigation, the defendant was under house arrest. On August 20, 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Olga Ogarkova guilty and sentenced her to 5 years in a general regime penal colony. The woman was taken into custody in the courtroom. December 3, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the sentence unchanged.
