Case Description
Olga Maksymets, a resident of Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, was detained on charges of espionage. The exact date of detention is unknown. According to the FSB Directorate for Rostov Region, the Ukrainian woman, having entered the territory of the Russian Federation, contacted by telephone an employee of the SBU and promised to provide information about the location of military units, routes of movement of equipment and personnel of the Russian army." " During subsequent visits to the Rostov region, she also recorded and transmitted to the SBU information about the locations of air defense systems and the movements of military equipment. On February 8, 2024, a panel of three federal judges of the Rostov Regional Court found Olga Maksiants guilty and sentenced her to 10 years in prison to be served in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
