Case Description
On February 2, 2023, a search was conducted in Moscow at the home of 27-year-old culturologist Oleg Selivyorov and his parents. The culturologist was detained and hanged in a temporary detention center before the measure of restraint was chosen. Initially, Seliverova was checked for involvement in administering the Telegram channel Nexta Live. As a result, Selivyorov was accused of 'calls for terrorism' for three comments in the Nexta Live channel. According to the investigation, the comments contained calls for active actions against the regime, up to the need to overturn police cars and "go" to the Kremlin." On February 4, 2023, the Kuzminsky District Court of Moscow sent Selivyorov to a pre-trial detention center. Later, the charge was reclassified as incitement to hatred or enmity with a threat of violence. On August 14, 2024, the Kuzminsky District Court of Moscow found Oleg Selivyorov guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison in a general regime colony. October 8, 2024, the Moscow City Court upheld the verdict."
