Case Description

In St. Petersburg in October 2023, local resident Oleg Pronin was detained. According to the security forces, no later than 20:00 on October 12, being at home at 12/49 Sinayskaya and at 51/13 Sredneokhtinsky Prospekt, Pronin, expressing his hatred, strong feelings of enemies and deep hostility, against the conduct of the SVO of the RF Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine, left the main traces of paints on two public faces and drew "a stylized drawing of a heart as a sign of love and power for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the GUR of Ukraine, thereby defiling them and causing OOO ZhKS No. 1 of the Krasnogvardeisky district g. St. Petersburg material damage in the amount of 21,254.25 rubles. Also, Pronin, no later than October 13 of the same year, acquired and stored by mistake of his residence ammunition for the TT and PPSH, M-56, namely: 7 cartridges of the first kind - 7.62 mm (7.62x25); 20 cartridges of the second kind - 5.6 mm for rifled firearms; 2 cartridges of the third kind - 7.62 mm with an incendiary bullet and with an armor-piercing incendiary bullet; 1 cartridge of the fourth kind – 7.62 mm; 1 cartridge of the fifth kind - 5.45 mm for Kalashnikov assault rifles AK-74, AKS-74U, RPK-74 machine guns and others. Against Pronin, a criminal case was initiated for vandalism motivated by the secret acquisition and storage of ammunition. On October 13, the Krasnogvardeysky District Court of St. Petersburg placed the man in a pre-trial detention center. On February 16, 2024, the Krasnogvardeysky District Court of St. Petersburg found Oleg Pronin guilty and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment with a probationary period of 4 years. On July 17, 2024, the St. Petersburg City Court left the verdict unchanged.
