Case Description
8 July 2025 in Shcherbinka, Moscow Oblast, a search was conducted at the home of 56-year-old local resident, driver-expeditor Oleg Kuryayev. The next day, the Mozhaisk City Court of the Moscow Region sent Kuryayev to administrative arrest for 12 days, finding him guilty under the article on disobedience to a police officer's order. According to the resolution, in the evening of July 8, a police officer stopped him "for questioning about involvement in a crime, but Kurayev allegedly tried to run away. Following the completion of his sentence, a new protocol was drawn up against Kurayev under the article on petty hooliganism. According to the protocol, he "expressed himself in rude obscene language in a public place." On July 24, the judge of the Ruza District Court of the Moscow Region sent the driver under arrest for another 15 days. On August 1, 2025, the Cheryomushkinsky District Court of Moscow considered another report against Kuryaev under the article on petty hooliganism. According to the protocol, he was swearing in a public place and shouting at passers-by. Kuryayev was given 14 days of arrest. On August 15, 2025, Kuryayev was again arrested for 14 days by the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow, also under the article on petty hooliganism for swearing in the street. In the evening of August 28, 2025, from the temporary detention facility in Sakharovo, Kuryayev was taken to the FSB building on Lubyanka. There, at night, they beat and tortured him with a stun gun, giving electric shocks to his arms and legs. He was accused of treason. According to the investigation, Kurayev used his work "Gazelle" van to "drive around infrastructure facilities and sent photos to Ukrainian intelligence, and also "had a negative attitude towards the leadership of the Russian Federation and the armed forces." On August 29, 2025, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow arrested Kuryayev.
