Case Description
In Moscow in July 2025, a 47-year-old local resident, blogger Oleg Elymanov, was detained. He was accused of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. According to the investigation, in July 2022, Elymanov in the Telegram chat "Chamber 13" with 29 participants published a post in Ukrainian about a strike on the colony in Yelenovka. An FSB linguistic study found signs of "fakes" about the army in the publication. On July 24, 2025, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow granted the prosecution's motion and placed the case suspect under house arrest. On November 21, 2025, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow found Oleg Yelimanov guilty and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom.
