Case Description
In the Krasnodar Territory, not later than February 2024 (the exact date is unknown), a criminal case was initiated for preparation for state treason and participation in the activities of an extremist community against a 43-year-old local resident, a native of the GDR, Oleg Eliseev. According to the security forces, Eliseev, being opposed to the special military operation, was preparing to fight against the Russian Federation by joining one of the international Ukrainian battalions. When he tried to leave for Ukrainian territory, he was detained by FSB officers. On May 16, 2024, the Southern District Military Court found Oleg Eliseev guilty and sentenced him to six years in a strict regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
