Case Description
In annexed Crimea, a criminal case of treason was opened against a local resident, a citizen of Ukraine with forced Russian citizenship, Oleg Budnik. He was detained by officers of the Border Service of the FSB, the exact date of detention is unknown. According to the investigation, a representative of Ukrainian intelligence recruited Budnik to cooperate. According to the instructions of his curator, he collected information in the Chernomorsky district about defensive structures, the composition of forces and means involved in guarding the coast. He transmitted this information through messengers, and the enemy used it to prepare missile strikes and landing operations. At the time of the investigation, the defendant in the case was sent into custody. On July 15, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea found Oleg Budnik guilty and sentenced him to 17 years in a strict regime penal colony and a fine of 200 thousand. rubles. On October 7, 2025, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the sentence unchanged.
