Case Description
In annexed Sevastopol, no later than November 2023, employees of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol detained a 65-year-old local resident, a native of Ukraine and a pensioner, Nina Timoshenko. She was accused of treason. According to the investigation, in September 2022, Tymoshenko on her own initiative contacted the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine and offered assistance in gathering information. Between October and November 2023, she collected and transmitted through an internet messenger to a representative of the Ukrainian special services information about military facilities, the number and deployment of personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as well as photo and video materials with data on the location of ships of the Black Sea Fleet. The defendant in the case was placed in custody. On March 21, 2025, the Sevastopol City Court found Nina Timoshenko guilty and sentenced her to 16 years in a general regime penal colony with a fine of 200 thousand. rubles and with a restriction of freedom for 1 year. On May 13, 2025, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction upheld the sentence.
