Case Description
In Kadievka (former Stakhanov) in the Luhansk region, local resident Nikolai Polozov was detained in March 2018. He was accused of treason under the Criminal Code of the LNR. According to the version of the security forces, Nikolai Polozov, being recruited by the SBU (call sign "Acacia"), lured his acquaintance, a participant in the "people's militia" Vasily Kryat, to the territory controlled by Ukraine, offering him to leave to carry out a sabotage operation. This led to Kryat's detention on March 30, 2017. For passing Kryat to Ukrainian special services, Polozov allegedly received 4700 hryvnias. He was also tasked with infiltrating the ranks of the 'LNR People's Militia' to collect and transmit military information. The defendant in the case was placed under arrest. NO LATER THAN JULY 9, 2019, THE SO-CALLED 'SUPREME COURT OF THE LNR' FOUND NIKOLAY POLOZOV GUILTY AND SENTENCED HIM TO 12 YEARS IN PRISON.
