Case Description
In Nalchik, no later than March 2024 (the exact date is unknown), a criminal case was opened for repeated "discrediting of the army" against 35-year-old local resident Nikolai Buchnev. The details of the charges are unknown. Earlier, on February 26, 2024, Buchneva was held accountable in a case of an administrative offense under the article on discrediting the army. On October 1, 2024, the Nalchik City Court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic found Nikolai Buchnev guilty and sentenced him to 1 year of imprisonment with a probationary period of 1 year. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
