Case Description
In March 2024, in a forest area near the village of Tuksa in the Olonetsky District of the Republic of Karelia, the FSB reported the "prevention of a terrorist attack, during which security forces killed 49-year-old activist from Belarus, Nikolai Alekseyev. As the special services claim, a Belarusian citizen allegedly planned to blow up an administrative building in the city of Olonets and was killed during detention. The man allegedly "opened fire on special services officers." 5. A bomb allegedly made 'based on British-made explosives and an American detonator,' a pistol, and ammunition were seized. The security forces also distributed a video of the alleged moment of the man's killing. The FSB claims that the killed man was connected to the "Regiment named after Kastus Kalinovsky" and was recruited by Ukrainian special services."
