Case Description
On October 27, 2025, 22-year-old Nikita Knop was detained in St. Petersburg. Next day, on October 28, he was charged with committing and attempting to commit a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. According to the investigation, no later than 21 hours 15 minutes on October 27, 2025, Knop entered into a criminal conspiracy with an unidentified person for the purpose of destabilizing the activities of government bodies. He acquired fuel and tools to commit arson. At the Oranienbaum-1 railway station in the city of Lomonosov, Knop entered the cabin of a shunting locomotive, spilled a mixture of gasoline and oil there, and set it on fire, after which he fled." 3. On the same day, he went to electrical substation No. 7 in the village of Gomontovo, Leningrad region, conducted reconnaissance of the area, recorded it on video, and sent it to an unidentified person. Then he made several attempts to penetrate the substation territory to set it on fire, but was unable to complete the crime due to circumstances beyond his control. On October 29, 2025, the Petrodvoretsky District Court of St. Petersburg chose a measure of restraint for the case suspect in the form of detention.
