In Moscow on November 24, 2023, three teenagers were detained — 16-year-old Yevgeny Nazarenko, 18-year-old Yaroslav Kuligin, and 17-year-old Nikita Alekseenko. According to the investigation, they participated in several attempts to set fire to transport infrastructure in the Moscow region. On the morning of October 21, around four o'clock, unknown individuals set fire to the head car of an electric train at the Domodedovo depot. But later the charge was reclassified to sabotage committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. 25 November 2023, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow sent all three to a remand prison. Later, the teenagers said that they were tortured for testimony during their detention. They were beaten on the head with a Stahlhelm helmet, which was used by the armed forces of Germany from 1916 to 1946. Kulygin and Nazarenko were told by FSB officers that another person was killed during the detention.
