Case Description
On August 20, 2022, on the Mozhayskoye Highway in the Odintsovo urban district near Golitsyno in the Moscow region, around 10 p.m., a car exploded in which the 29-year-old daughter of the philosopher and ideologist of the 'Russian world,' Alexander Dugin, Daria, was traveling. She died on the spot. Two days later, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation accused Ukrainian special services of Dugina's murder and named Natalya Vovk, a Ukrainian citizen, as the perpetrator. On August 29, 2022, the FSB announced the "establishment" of an accomplice to the crime — a citizen of Ukraine, Bogdan Tsyganenko. The security forces claim that Tsyganenko is a member of a "Ukrainian sabotage and terrorist group. He provided Vovk with fake car license plates and documents in the name of a real citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yulia Zayko, and also, together with Vovk, assembled a homemade explosive device in a rented garage in southwest Moscow. In November 2022, Iryna Vovk was arrested in absentia, and Bohdan Tsyganenko was placed on the wanted list. On April 25, 2023, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow placed Bogdan Tsyganenko under house arrest in absentia. Alexander Suchkov and Andrey Kuznetsov also became defendants in the case. They were accused of forging a vehicle registration certificate, on which the alleged organizers of Dugina's murder left Russia. According to the FSB, a Ukrainian citizen Natalya Vovk followed Dugina in a Mini Cooper car. Suchkov created an electronic template for a Mini Cooper registration document, and Andrey Kuznetsov printed it on official letterhead.
