Case Description
On August 21, 2024, in the occupied Mariupol of the Donetsk region, 53-year-old local resident Natalya Voronina, a citizen of Ukraine with forced Russian citizenship, was detained on charges of treason. According to the Russian investigation, from July 2022 to January 2024, Voronina passed on to her acquaintance, who worked for Ukrainian intelligence, information about the location of Russian military units in the Novoazovsk district of the DNR. A woman was placed in custody. 24 April 2025, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic found Natalya Voronina guilty and sentenced her to 13 years in a general regime colony. The court also restricted her freedom for 1 year after serving the main sentence. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
