Case Description
In Izhevsk, in the Leninsky district of the city, on the evening of March 15, 2024, on the first day of voting in the 2024 Putin elections, at the premises of precinct commission 221, a member of the commission with a decisive vote, Nadezhda Pinegina, nominated to the commission by the CPRF party, attempted to pour green antiseptic on the ballot processing complex. The BVA operators reacted in time, and the ballots remained intact. An employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on duty at the precinct, detained the woman. A criminal case was initiated against Deniskina for obstructing the exercise of electoral rights or the work of election commissions, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or an organized group. On March 16, the court in Izhevsk placed the woman in custody. On May 14, 2024, the Leninsky District Court of Izhevsk found Nadezhda Pinegina guilty and sentenced her to imprisonment for a term of 1 year and 6 months with a probationary period of 2 years. The verdict was not appealed and entered into force.
