Case Description
At the beginning of February 2024, the Head of the Investigative Committee ordered a criminal case to be opened against the pediatrician of Moscow polyclinic No. 140 on Yan Raynis Boulevard, 67-year-old Nadezhda Buyanova. The reason for the persecution of the medic was a publication in the Telegram channel Mash. Allegedly, Anastasia Akinishina brought the child for an examination due to eye problems. During the examination, the boy began to act up, and the doctor asked what was wrong with him. She answered that her son was longing for his father, who had died in Ukraine. According to the soldier's wife, the pediatrician said: 'Your husband was a legitimate target for Ukraine' (again, allegedly mockingly). The doctor claims she did not say this, but the widow has already complained to the chief physician, who is now also threatened with dismissal for allegedly trying to "sweep the incident under the rug." On February 2, a search was conducted at the pediatrician's. Nadezhda Buyanova was charged under the article on military "fakes. Before the election of a preventive measure, she was placed in a detention center. On February 3, the Tushinsky District Court of Moscow chose a prohibition of certain actions as a preventive measure for Buyanova." "Communication devices, including mail, telegraph and internet, as well as communication with witnesses in the case and other participants in criminal proceedings, except for investigators, defense attorneys and prosecutors, were prohibited for her. In April, Buyanova was presented with the final version of the charges, significantly toughening them: she was charged with "spreading knowingly false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation motivated by national hatred. On April 26, 2024, the Tushino District Court of Moscow, at the request of the investigation, tightened Buyanova's preventive measure and sent her to a pre-trial detention center. On November 12, 2024, the Tushinsky District Court of the city of The Moscow court found Nadezhda Buyanova guilty and sentenced her to 5.5 years in a general regime penal colony. On May 5, 2025, the Moscow City Court upheld the verdict.
