Case Description
On May 3, 2022, in Nova Kakhovka, occupied Kherson region, 36-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Nadezhda Berezhnaya, was detained. On May 22, 2024, her husband, 32-year-old Ukrainian citizen with forced Russian citizenship Andrey Berezhnoy, was detained. Hope was accused of espionage, and Andrei of treason. The details of the charges are unknown. In August 2025, the spouses were escorted to the pre-trial detention center in Rostov-on-Don.
