Case Description
FSB officers came to search the apartment in Novosibirsk on August 2, 2023, where transgender girl Mira Lushchaeva lived with her partner. After the search, both girls were taken away for interrogation, after which Lushchaev was released under house arrest. The next day, the couple's passports were confiscated. A criminal case was opened against Mir Lushaev under the article on public calls for extremist activity on the Internet. The details of the charges are unknown. The FSB claims that Lushayeva ran some "anti-war Telegram channel. Mira's father, Ivan, said that the girl was charged with posts written before the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine." "On October 6, a "star" appeared next to Lushchaeva's name in the Rosfinmonitoring registry, indicating that the person is considered to be involved in terrorist activities. Public information about the persecution of the girl under terrorism-related articles is not available. It is possible that a new criminal case could be opened against the girl or the old one could be reclassified."
