Case Description
In early April 2022, a student of the Baltic Federal University named after I. Kant was detained in Kaliningrad. Kant Mikhail Sukhoruchkin. He was accused of vandalism. According to the investigation, on the night of April 5-6 of the same year, he wrote the inscription 'PUTIN=WAR' on the monument to the 1200 Guards. After Sukhoruchkin's arrest, a video appeared online in which he apologizes, says he supports Putin's actions 'in Ukraine against Nazism,' and promises to join 'patriotic organizations.' 5. Later, he told the publication "Sever.Realii" that he made this statement under pressure from unknown people who were in the investigator's office and threatened him with physical violence. Sukhoruchkin was taken into custody not to leave. Later he was able to leave Russia and received political asylum in Poland.
