Case Description
In the Nizhny Novgorod region on January 16, 2026, Mikhail Scherbakov, director for capital construction at Atomstroyexport and former deputy head of the Sarov administration, was detained. Searches were conducted at his home and workplace. He was accused of financing extremist activities. According to the investigation, in August 2021, Shcherbak made a donation to the "Anti-Corruption Foundation. The investigation chose a measure of restraint for Mikhail Shcherbak in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.
