Case Description
In Ivanovo Oblast, no later than May 2025, a criminal case was opened for repeated public demonstration of extremist organization symbols against 36-year-old previously convicted Mikhail Savenko. According to the investigation, while serving his sentence in the Federal Penitentiary Institution IK-4 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Ivanovo Region, Saavenko, previously brought to administrative responsibility for the same act, deliberately and publicly demonstrated to other convicts and colony staff tattoos on his chest in the form of eight-pointed stars, which are the symbolism of the extremist movement "AUE" banned in Russia. The court also ordered him to pay more than 1.1 million rubles under a civil lawsuit filed by Rosseti Severo-Zapad. February 20, 2025, the Kineshma City Court of the Ivanovo Region found Mikhail Savenko guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment in a strict regime colony, the length of the sentence is unknown.
