In June 2023, he was accused of displaying 'extremist symbols' online. At that time, the Krasnodar resident was arrested for 15 days due to a post on VKontakte featuring the Ukrainian flag with the text 'Glory to Ukraine!'. According to the police and the court, the flag and slogan 'are used by organizations prohibited from operating'. On April 9, 2024, the Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar found Mikhail Lyakh guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 1 million rubles. On July 2, 2024, the Krasnodar Regional Court granted the prosecutor's appeal and changed the verdict, increasing the punishment from a fine to imprisonment in a general regime colony for three years.
