Case Description
In Krasnodar, no later than July 2024, a criminal case was opened for state treason and calls for terrorism against local resident Mikhail Komkov, 54 years old. According to the investigation, in June 2024 Komkov, being opposed to the special military operation, established contact with Ukrainian military intelligence. On the instructions of foreign curators, he collected and transmitted information about the location of military units and administrative buildings of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the basing of military naval vessels and methods of their protection. Also, it is alleged that in March 2024, the man posted a comment in a messenger community justifying the actions of the 'Russian Volunteer Corps,' recognized as a terrorist organization on the territory of the Russian Federation. The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. June 26, 2025, the Southern Military District Court found Mikhail Komkov guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in a strict regime penal colony and 1 year of restriction of liberty.
