Case Description
1. On March 24, 2024, in St. Petersburg, 20-year-old local resident Mikhail Bugaev and 15-year-old Taras Gagulin were detained. They were accused of attempting to commit a terrorist act. According to the investigation, on March 24, 2024, no later than 01:18, the young men, while at the 7th kilometer of the Udelnaya railway station, attempted to set fire to a battery cabinet. They were unable to complete the arson because they were afraid of being noticed. Later, the charge was reclassified to committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. On May 25, 2024, the Vyborgsky District Court of St. Petersburg chose a measure of restraint for the defendants in the form of detention. On March 21, 2025, the 1st Western Military District Court found Mikhail Bugaev and Taras Gagulin guilty, the size of the punishment is unknown. On October 24, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
