Case Description
In the Krasnodar Territory, no later than April 2025, a 25-year-old citizen of Belarus, Matvey Kitov, was detained. He was accused of preparing a terrorist attack. According to the investigation, in December 2024, Kitov was recruited by the SBU through internet messengers on a material basis. His task was to gather information about the locations of the Black Sea Fleet ships and military personnel in the territory of Krasnodar Krai, as well as to commit terrorist acts. Kotov removed from a cache a ready-to-use homemade explosive device weighing 2.5 kg for the detonation of an administrative building - a military personnel collection point - in Novorossiysk. The defendants in the case were placed in custody for the duration of the investigation. Later, the charges were toughened - articles on cooperation with a foreign state, committing a terrorist act resulting in the death of a person, illegal circulation of explosive devices as part of an organized group, and undergoing training for the purpose of committing a terrorist act were added.
