Case Description
Matvey Bezborodov, a 21-year-old local resident of Yuzhnouralsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, was detained no later than May 2024. He was accused of public calls for terrorism. According to law enforcement's version, Bezborodov is a supporter of a terrorist organization banned in Russia who posted online comments calling for terrorist activities and attacks on the lives of government officials. There is no information about the measure of restraint. Apparently, the man was at large during the investigation. August 26, 2025, the Central District Military Court found Matvey Bezborodov guilty and sentenced him to 5.5 years in a general regime colony. The court also banned him from administering websites for 2 years.
