Case Description
Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on mercenaryism against a citizen of Great Britain Mark D. no later than March 2024 (the exact date is unknown). Eireesa. According to the Russian security forces' version, Eyres participated in combat operations on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a foreign mercenary in the nationalist Azov battalion. On June 4, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic recognized Mark D. Eyres found him guilty and sentenced him in absentia to 14 years in a strict regime colony. He was placed on the international wanted list. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
