Case Description
On March 15, 2024, in Simferopol, in annexed Crimea, 31-year-old neurologist Maria Pukhovskaya came to a polling station on Kechkemet Street and poured brilliant green, which she carried in a juice bag, into the ballot box with ballots." The woman filmed her actions on her phone and was probably talking to scammers at the time. The police officer did not interfere with her, but calmly watched as she finished pouring the green dye, and only then took her away. A criminal case was opened against Pukhovskaya for obstructing the work of election commissions by a group of persons and damaging someone else's property. It is unknown whether a preventive measure has been chosen. On June 11, 2024, the Kievsky District Court of Simferopol, Republic of Crimea, found Maria Shukhovskaya guilty and sentenced her to one year of imprisonment suspended with a probationary period of two years. The court terminated the case of intentional destruction of property "due to reconciliation of the parties." The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
