Case Description
Parents of Maria Chernova, a Russian woman who left the country, were visited for a search on November 3, 2023, in the city of Bogdanovich, Sverdlovsk Oblast. The security forces confiscated all gadgets, flash drives, and photographed personal correspondence. A criminal case was opened against Chernova for justifying terrorism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a post on VKontakte with a video and the caption: "A good church is a burning church. The best bridge is the burning Crimean Bridge,' as well as anti-war comments in local groups. The girl was put on the wanted list. In March 2024, it became known that the Bogdanovich City Court of the Sverdlovsk Region issued a decision on the in absentia arrest of Maria Chernova."
