Case Description
In St. Petersburg, a criminal case was initiated against a local 39-year-old resident, Marina Voronova, for public calls for extremism. The exact date of the initiation of the criminal case and the appointed preventive measure are unknown. According to the investigation, on December 31, 2023, Voronova, under the pseudonym "Olesya Ukrainka," published a text message in the group "IT Army Dimetil Gidrozin. Cyber Army of Ukraine. Cyber Cossacks," beginning with the words: "This is for me today..." and ending with the words: "...Death to empires!" In the opinion of law enforcement officers, the comment contains "a call to carry out violent actions, the result of which assumes a change in the foundations of the constitutional order and a violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation ("proclamation of a sovereign Ural state")." On December 3, 2024, the Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg found Marina Voronova guilty and sentenced her to imprisonment for 1 year and 2 months in a settlement colony with deprivation of the right to engage in website administration on the Internet for 2 years. The woman was taken into custody in the courtroom. On April 28, 2025, the St. Petersburg City Court changed the verdict, details are unknown.
