Case Description
Elabuga, Republic of Tatarstan, December 17, 2024 - FSB officers detained 27-year-old local resident Marat Gilmanov, son of the chairman of the qualification board of judges of the Republic Radik Gilmanov. He was accused of public calls for terrorist and extremist activities, as well as spreading "fakes" about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. According to the investigation, from December 2022, Gilmmanov repeatedly published comments of a 'radical' nature in 'pro-Ukrainian' Telegram channels and also justified attacks by Ukrainian drones. The correspondence that became the basis for the case was conducted in 2023. After Gilmanov's detention, he was taken to Moscow. On December 18, 2024, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow chose a measure of restraint for the defendant in the form of detention.
