Case Description
In Melitopol, in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, no later than December 2024, 49-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Maksim Zhuravlyov was detained. He was accused of calling for terrorism. The details of the charges are unknown. The court placed the man in a pre-trial detention center. On June 17, 2025, the Southern Military District Court found Maxim Zhuravlev guilty and sentenced him to 1.5 years in a penal colony-settlement. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
