Case Description
According to the investigation, last September, 22-year-old Nikolai Tikhomirov, 20-year-old Daniil Kopylenko, and 21-year-old Maksim Shatyi from the city of Unech planned to commit arson." The prosecution claims that the target was the office of "United Russia" on Popov Street, as well as the city military commissariat on Lenin Street. As investigators believe, Tikhomirov, Kopylenko, and Shaty began preparing for the crime — they made incendiary mixtures and prepared a change of clothes." However, the arson was not successful. Maxim Shatoi was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony, with a 1-year restriction of freedom. Nikolai Tikhomirov was sentenced by the court to a punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 7 years, of which 3 years to be served in prison, the remaining term - 4 years - in a strict regime correctional colony, with restriction of liberty for a period of 1 year. Daniil Kopylenko was sentenced to 7 years in a penal colony, of which the first 3 years he must serve in prison, and the remaining 4 years - in a strict regime correctional colony, with a restriction of freedom for 1 year and 6 months.
