Case Description
In Abakan at the end of June 2024, a criminal case was opened for 'fakes' about the Russian army on the grounds of political hatred and with the artificial creation of evidence of guilt against 45-year-old resident of the village of Kalinino Maxim Schetinkin. According to law enforcement, on April 8, 2022, Shchetinkin, through editing, created some kind of image in the form of a "screenshot, which he then posted on VKontakte. Thus, according to the investigation, the man created an "artificial evidence of the illegality of the actions of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. The post was linked to the explosion in Kramatorsk. On June 28, 2024, the Abakan City Court of the Republic of Khakassia chose a measure of restraint for the man in the form of detention. On November 29, 2024, the Abakan City Court of the Republic of Khakassia found Maxim Schetinkin guilty and sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months in prison to be served in a general regime correctional colony. Also, the court deprived Shestinkin of the right to administer websites on the Internet for 3 years. February 7, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Khakassia made the sentence effective.
