Case Description
In Omsk in May 2023, local resident Maksim Prikhodko was detained. He was accused of organizing a terrorist community, undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities, attempted terrorism, as well as illegal acquisition and possession of weapons. It is claimed that during a search of Prikhodko's home, components for a homemade explosive device were found, as well as 'plans and programs for the development of a terrorist organization' prepared by him, along with 'agitational materials.' "According to the FSB, in January 2017, Prikhodko created a terrorist organization 'aimed at violently changing the constitutional order of Russia, including using weapons, as well as committing terrorist acts on the territory of Omsk'. According to the prosecution, the man allegedly planned terrorist attacks on the facilities of the FSB, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Ministry of Defense, and "citizens who shared his terrorist ideology, as well as those with specialized knowledge in military affairs, were recruited into the criminal community. July 29, 2024, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Maksim Prikhodko guilty and sentenced him to 16 years in a strict regime colony, the first four years he must spend in prison. On November 18, 2024, the Appellate Military Court changed the verdict, details are unknown.
