Case Description
In the city of Abaza, Republic of Khakassia, a criminal case of treason was opened against local resident Maxim Podterebkov. The date of the initiation of the case is unknown. According to the investigation, Podterebkov left for the Republic of Turkey to evade mobilization. It is claimed that in Turkey he participated in fundraising, with which they purchased a minibus that was handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is unknown when and under what circumstances the case participant was detained. During the investigation, he was most likely in custody. March 5, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Khakassia found Maksim Podterebkov guilty and sentenced him to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony and 1 year of restricted freedom after serving his sentence. On May 27, 2025, the Fifth Appellate Court left the verdict unchanged.
