In July 2024, the FSB reported the detention of eight minors in the Sverdlovsk region - 17-year-olds Vitaly Chernyshov and Artem Tsibutin, 16-year-old Alexander Vetlugin, 15-year-olds Vlad Baidildin, Arseny Myasoedov and Anton Stashkin, and 14-year-olds Maxim Kikhtenko and Semyon Telegin. They were accused of attempted and preparation for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. According to the security forces, in July 2024, teenagers, for monetary reward, acting as a group of five people, being on the territory of the railway workshop of a transport enterprise in Krasnouralsk, as well as a few days later as another group of three people at the Pervouralsk railway station, attempted to set fire to locomotives and railway relay cabinets. For this purpose, the minors arrived at the railway with flammable liquid and metal scrap, but did not manage to carry out their actions to the end, as they were detained by employees of the FSB of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region. Instructions were received by the suspects through the Telegram messenger from a person located on the territory of Ukraine. For committing the aforementioned actions, they allegedly promised them a monetary reward, which they did not receive. By the investigator's petition, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for all minors.
